In the pristine heart of Sardinia, in the municipality of Maracalagonis, a short distance from Cagliari, the ambitious urbanization project “CRABO” in the park called Craboni (Carbone) aims to transform the precious natural pine forest area into an eco-sustainable hub, open not only to the local community but also to travelers from all corners of the world. The design challenge lies in making an absolutely untouched area a place that maintains its natural appearance while hosting various architectural episodes for visitors.

In addition to the technical planning of the necessary water, electrical, and sewage infrastructures essential for the complex’s functionality, we aimed for an urban development of walkways and wooden structures with minimal landscape impact, intending to connect the human experience to the natural one almost spontaneously. A picturesque kiosk overlooking the valley, surrounded by water mirrors and a large stepped square, forms the center of sociality, a series of versatile spaces suitable for various functions such as cafes, evening aperitif venues, events, parties, and ceremonies. A true meeting point for the community and visitors.

CRABO is conceived as a dynamic project that evolves over time. The offer will gradually be expanded with structures for catering, a swimming pool, and accommodation volumes, creating a complete experience for those who wish to immerse themselves in an oasis of peace, enveloped by nature. All proposed constructions, in wood and dry-assembled, pursue a minimal approach. This approach not only gives the complex a warm and welcoming aspect but also testifies to deep respect for the surrounding environment. The choice to adopt removable structures underlines the flexibility of the intervention, in harmony with the changing needs of the place over time.

The definition of an eco-sustainable refuge between sky and earth signifies a place where natural beauty merges with respectful architecture to create an oasis of serenity. This vision is destined to become a sought-after destination for those seeking a unique and immersive experience, embracing the peace and harmony offered by the sea and mountains.
