In the heart of Cagliari, on Via Nuoro, not far from the renowned Palazzo Doglio complex, a historic building is revived through our renovation project. The significant heights recorded during the site survey inspired the typology of the rooms, designed by exploiting the verticality offered by the attic recovery. The first floor is therefore divided into three distinct apartments, three modern treasures each developed on two levels, duplexes with double heights and views that tell stories of light and shadow.

The wooden roof, the guardian of history in its original structure, emphasized by the grace of whitewashed wood, merges with the lightness of the added mezzanine, which echoes its shapes and material in its construction elements. The staircase becomes an architectural episode perfectly integrated into the style of each apartment, recalling, in the vertical dimension, the rhythmic scan found when looking up at the mezzanine. The various elements interact in the usual search for harmony and spatial musicality. In these environments, dimensions do not limit but liberate.

Windows and metal frames serve as bridges between inside and outside, between history and modernity, inviting light to flow unobstructedly. With skill and intuition, we have expanded the spaces as much as possible, creating open and breathable places where permeability and continuity dominate.
